Youth Athlete Consultant Physiotherapist

Children are not mini adults — and their care shouldn't treat them as one.

Angela Jackson has spent 35 years helping clinicians, clinics and sporting organisations understand the developing athlete — so that growth-related injuries are recognised early, and young people get back to the sport they love, safely.

About Angela

Raising the standard of care for the developing athlete

Angela is a chartered physiotherapist with over 35 years' experience, and the founder of Kids Back 2 Sport — an education-led initiative supporting clinicians to deliver safer, evidence-based care for sporty children and youth athletes.

She is an experienced Youth Athlete Consultant physiotherapist, having worked with national teams, Premier League football clubs and county cricket, and has helped thousands of children return safely to sport following injury.

“Children do not finish skeletal maturation until they are aged over 20 — yet most MSK clinicians were never formally trained to recognise what that means for diagnosis and return to play.”

For nearly two decades Angela has consulted for the Cheshire Cricket Board, developing Ready 4 Cricket, an online injury prevention programme, and she authored the chapter on the prevention of lumbar stress fractures in Cricket Sports Medicine. She lectures internationally, teaching clinicians how to close the gap between adult and adolescent musculoskeletal care.
